In the early 1920's, the young folks of the community put on
a home talent show in the District 20 schoolhouse, located
approximately two miles west of the Lake Koronis outlet.
The show was so sucessful that the group received requests to
present it at Hawick and Spicer, communities to the west.
The show netted roughly $45, and Dewey Pederson, local farmer,
suggested the money be put toward the purchase of land for a
community park on Lake Koronis, as eventually the lakeshore
property would be all privately owned with no access to the
local community.
