In 1973, Stearns County and Meeker County qualified for
$148,000 in federal funds to enlarge the South Koronis
Community Park. The two counties agreed to share operating
costs, with Meeker County assuming supervision. The name
was changed at this time to the Koronis Regional Park, and
52 acres of adjoining property was purchased, which included
2000 feet of lakeshore.
