The Crow River Creamery, also known as Meeker County District #5, was established
in 1902 in Lot E of the Village of Crow River.

Due to the operations of a creamery, ice had to be hauled in during the winter
months from Wilcox Lake (three miles to the southeast) and Diamond Lake (six miles
to the southwest).
Hans Peterson was employed as a buttermaker in 1912 at the creamery and stayed
until 1919.

The original structure burned in 1916, and was replaced by a concrete
block building, and continued in operation until 1930.
